Weekend trip..

We took a trip up to the White Mountains this weekend to take the kids to Santa's Village and Storyland!!  The kids had a great time, the weather was great, and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Here is a pic of the little one enjoying himself on a teacup type ride. He loved every minute of it, Daddy's ok on the little spinning rides but not the big ones.. *barf* Well not really , but after riding a different one 3 times in a row , that's what it felt like...

The temperature the first morning started off at a balmy 30 degrees! It felt great, I only wore a light fleece and was perfectly fine, such great crisp air to breathe in..

Here he kept Santa entertained. He was so excited to see Santa he ran right over to him and practically jumped on his lap. Apparently he wants a truck for Christmas. Me too! Me too! I think mine is a bit out of Santa's price range however.  We always manage to stay up at the Evergreen Motel which is directly across the street from the park. The owners Gordon and Janice are the nicest people you could meet and the rooms are clean and affordable!!!  Make sure you tell them Brian and Michelle said hi , if you go!!

The next day we were off to Storyland for another LONG day of rides and fun.  Brendon had more energy than all of us combined, no Stroller daddy! I walk. Ok, well he RAN most of the day, we struggled to keep up sometimes, ha ha!!  I love some of the pictures we got of him! This one here is inside of an igloo at Santa's Village, what a ham! He's got the craziest personality at times, a rough and tumble attitude and no fear! None whatsoever!!

Driving Mr. Daddy and Mommy
Driving a car, had to check on Daddy. It's amazing what kids can do these days, he even got his Storyland driving license :)  Cute.

The food at the parks isn't bad for amusement park food, a little pricey but that's the same anywhere you go. I tried to eat a little bit healthy but that can be difficult at these places, although they do have wraps now!

Riding his first ride alone!

Well not too much else to report we spent the last day going to breakfast at the WaterWheel! If you've never been here before you need to go! On the weekend make sure you get there early though, the waits can be incredible. We went on a Monday morning, no lines!  The food here is great, if you want pancakes be careful , 1 is enough for most, they are plate sized and I mean BIG plate sized!  Trish the owner is a great person, very friendly, on top of things and making sure everybody is having great food and a great time! It's a must to check in here on your way out!

After that we headed down to Jackson, NH to a curios shoppe that I love checking out everytime we go. It's called Ravenwood Curio and they have some of the coolest things in there, I need to take pictures next time. I did pick up a metal cat statue, I'll post later to explain!  After that we headed over to Jackson falls where the kids had fun along the Ellis River and the waterfalls! No swimming though, that water was ICE cold :)

incredibles....

The little guy got more exposure to Pixar last night watching The Incredibles. I hadn't seen that movie before either and thought it was quite entertaining. He sat there wide eyed until it ended at 10pm. Ugh, he's not supposed to be up that late. He fell asleep on the armchair with mommy and waltzed into my bedroom, blanket in hand, looking for mama this morning. She fell asleep on the couch... We get worn out easily during the week.

In other news, Daddy broke the glass cooktop at home during the 4 day power outage by dropping a glass spice jar on it. Mommy was not pleased at all. We did end up getting a new stove on Sunday from Lowes.

<- There it is in all it's glory. Ok , it's just a stove but the wife is very pleased to have a new one, and me too, it has a Pizza button. It uses a true convection system, preheated the oven to 350 last night in around 5 minutes or so. It was quick. We still have to figure out how to use it all the right now. No more spice jars over the stove though!  Hopefully nothing more gets broken at our house.

Just ordered some gutters though! Daddy's not doing this one though little guy. We have help. I ordered the pieces and we'll finally have some new gutters up on the house. I used T&D Gutters to make all the lengths and they are bringing it the house really soon! Maybe we won't have a waterfall over the windows anymore when it rains out !!

silly daddy...

Daddy decided that he's gonna do a spartan race this Saturday after my neighbor had done a different one last year called the Tough Mudder. The Spartan Race is

Obstacle Racing at its Toughest! You thought mud runs and trail races were tough?

Spartan Race™, the global leader in Obstacle Racing since 2005, was designed by seven insane ultra athletes and a Royal Marine. If you have tried trail races, mud runs, tough mudder runs, or a warrior dash, it's time to step up to a brutal Spartan Race obstacle course. You can tackle a Spartan Sprint, a Super Spartan, maybe even attempt a brutal Spartan Beast, but only a few of you will have the heart to graduate up to our Death Race; the world championship of obstacle racing, and an endurance race like NO other. Are you unbreakable?

Why Spartan? Because the Spartans were tough as nails. Why race our obstacle course races? Because we all thrive under pressure, survival of the fittest. Our goal is simple... to get you off your couch, throw you in the mud & trails, and feed you one tough endurance event day that will be the adrenalin rush of your life.

An obstacle course race is designed to test your resilience, strength, stamina, quick decision making skills, and ability to laugh in the face of adversity. We want to own obstacle racing and our unique obstacle course trail races will demand every ounce of your strength, ingenuity, and animal instinct.

You will understand at the finish line...

YIKES!! Wish me luck!

learning to fly...

At a company outing, the little guy got his hands on a frisbee and practiced throwing. This was at Francis Farm in Rehoboth, MA.  There were plenty of things to do there as well as a buffet of burgers, chicken, and dogs and the normal fixings. Normal BBQ food, nothing special. Daddy is gonna make some good burgers soon and the grill and maybe one of these times this little guy will try it. He loves his hotdogs however!!

The summer is winding down, the weather getting cooler and we are expecting some heavy rain and wind from the hurricane that is churning in the atlantic, currently over the Caribbean Islands. I like a good storm if we aren't expecting any damage! You can always find the latest hurricane information form the National Hurricane Center and see what else we can expect as the season gets going.  I've always been a weather buff , even took a meteorology course in college. Learned a few things from that.  Speaking of school , like a said before CJ is starting next week and we need to get to the store and stock up on supplies  Below are the major things I need to most likely get him before he starts. Walmart really does have some great  prices on this stuff.

The only thing that is the big money item is the TI 84 graphing calulator! I think I'm going to look on Ebay again for this thing.

Gotta go figure out dinner now for the family and wait for the wife to bring home the little guy. You may bet a picture of what's cookin!!!
